Matt's Space

So, back to the mansion… Everyone here is ridiculously talented. We were stuck inside last night and we all ended up in the ballroom. We took turns passing around the guitar and playing our own originals. Some songs and some people’s voices were so moving, it brought people to tears…to say I was humbled was an understatement, but it was a magical night I’ll never forget. If anything else this’ll be a huge learning experience. I’m looking forward to writing and stealing tricks from everyone.

 

I’m thrilled with the cast personally as well. On the first day I met Magni who asked me to be his roommate. I can’t remember the last time I thought of Iceland, let alone conceived I’d be rooming with someone from there. He’s got a great demeanor and cracks me up on a regular basis as does Lukas, who could be a comedian if he wasn’t a musician. I finally met my match on the guitar as well, Josh is amazing both vocally and at his instrument and he and I have already come up with some cool sh*t. Looking forward to writing with him especially. The whole dynamic of seeking emotional support in your competitors is obviously what makes good TV. I think people here are actually genuine, but I have to keep reminding myself it’s a competition… I’ve got to be own compass and positive reinforcement… just thinking of J.D. from last season…. Enough said.

I miss my girlfriend Donna so much it hurts. I love you sweetie…also want to say hello to Andy, Lor, Walter, Rover and Bret, and, of course my folks and brother, Chris. Miss you guys.
